WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT?
The Arm Sling & Abductor Pillow is an arm sling. It abducts the arm at approximately 15°. It consists of an Abduction Pillow and a Sling.
It has pockets for pens, phones, wallets, etc., and comes with two ‘Please Do Not Touch‘ stickers to help deter people from touching the sore arm.
WHO IS THIS PRODUCT SUITABLE FOR?
The Arm Sling & Abductor Pillow is suitable for people for:
- Rotator cuff or similar operations.
- Some dislocations.
- Subluxation.
- Strains etc.
BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
- Place the Patient’s arm in the Sling.
- Have the elbow fully back in the Sling.
- Take the shoulder strap from the wrist area over the unaffected shoulder, across the back and down through the plastic fitting next to the elbow, adjusting to size.
- Place the Abduction Pillow under the Sling so it is held in position by the Hook & Loop Tape fastening. The surgeon will decide if the bulbous end is to be in front, or beside the chest. Use the strap provided to secure the Sling around the Patient’s waist.
- The wrist section can be opened for inspection by undoing one of the Hook & Loop Tape tabs. Fold the front section back if you do not want to support the wrist.
Your medical adviser normally recommends and fits this Sling.

Cleaning
CLEANING METHOD
Foam: Remove the foam and rinse in water.
Cover: Machine or hand wash the cover.
MAXIMUM WASHING TEMPERATURE
Foam: Warm.
Cover: 80°C / 176°F.
DETERGENT
Use a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener.
DRYING METHOD
Foam: Air dry in the shade.
Cover: Air dry in the shade. Alternatively, tumble dry on a cool temperature and make sure the drum is cool.
CLEANING WARNING
Only use and store the product when it is dry.
