WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT?
The Vented Overlay Pad is a breathable, washable foam overlay designed for use on a bed. Inside the pad is a specialised foam sheet with ventilation holes that allow air to flow through. This helps regulate body temperature, sometimes referred to as maintaining a thermoneutral state. The fabric cover is designed to wick moisture away from the body. This type of material is also commonly used in sportswear.
As part of the Pelican Sleep System, the Vented Overlay Pad is compatible with positioning items such as the Sleep System Positioning Sheet, Body Brackets, and Wedges. It is large enough to allow the hips and shoulders to rest on the pad, and to extend across the bed so that wedges or body brackets can be positioned underneath it.
Also available: Vented Overlay Pad – Small – TR. This smaller (23.6″ x 7.8″) version is designed for use on chairs, car seats, etc., and features a thermoregulating material cover.
WHO IS THIS PRODUCT SUITABLE FOR?
The Vented Overlay Pad is suitable for use either on its own or in conjunction with postural sleep supports.
BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Always consult your therapist before use. Lay the Vented Overlay Pad across the bed where the patient’s hips and shoulders will rest.
If using the Overlay Pad with the Sleep System Positioning Sheet and Body Brackets or Wedges, gently tilt the patient to one side to apply the brackets/wedges, then tilt them to the other side to position them on the opposite side.

Cleaning
CLEANING METHOD
Machine or hand wash.
MAXIMUM WASHING TEMPERATURE
80°C / 176°F.
DETERGENT
Use a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener.
DRYING METHOD
Air dry in the shade. Alternatively, tumble dry on a cool temperature and make sure the drum is cool.
CLEANING WARNING
Only use and store the product when it is dry.
